Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort

Located a few kilometres from the lake edge and the town centre. Wanaka is approximately a two hour drive from Queenstown town centre and the airport. Wanaka is a seven hour drive from Christchurch. There is a small domestic airport located on the outskirts of the town.
This is a new style in property for Wanaka. The main feature is its 7 outdoor pools, which include two heated swimming pools and five spa pools. In addition there is an on site spa. The resort is designed to satisfy all the rejuvenating requirements of guests who may have been up on the nearby ski slopes or in summer taking advantage of all the outdoor activities from hiking or fishing to mountain biking in the nearby mountain tracks and rivers. A resort style complex of buildings. There are no buildings over two storeys in height, because of this there are no elevators.

The restaurant serves modern New Zealand cuisine with a twist, the signature dishes include the table BBQ, Fondue, and the Oak steak. There is seating for 100 persons inside and 50 outside. In winter up to three open fires keep the place warm and provide a very nice ambience in the restaurant.
There are a number of different room types at the resort. This listing is for the standard hotel room. While these are nicely furnished they are fairly small. There is some excellent views from many of the rooms.
10 kms to the nearest airport (wanaka), 2 km to the nearest beach, 2 kms to city centre, 45 minute walk to the nearest bus stop.
