Due to its location and pricing, it is an experience in itself to stay in one of these refurbished shop houses. Chinatown is about 10 minutes walk away and there is no shortage of night life from the pubs around.

The hotel occupies former shop houses built before the second world war in typical Chinese style design but immaculately restored to its former splendour. The surrounding is quaint and served by a busy narrow street lined with upmarket offices and pubs.
A deluxe French restaurant, reputed to be one the best in Singapore-L'Aigle d'or.
As can be expected in a historical boutique hotel, the lobby is small but cosy with European style furnishing.
Being old Straits Chinese trading houses so no two rooms are alike. Some rooms are irregularly shaped due to the original floor plan. The rooms are very well appointed with pastel colored walls and European themed furnishing. All rooms are equipped with coffee/tea making facility and individually controlled air-conditioning.
