Reviews of America's Best Value Inn-East Palm Resort Orlando

Review by: DGarrett, Crestview, United States

We chose this motel based on their internet site listed. When we arrived, it was very far away from where we wanted to be (near Disney) and there was no shuttle, no continental breakfast, and no extras as promised. The place was run down, boarded by weekly live-ins, and smelled like stale cigarrette smoke. The front desk people told me that it was no longer owned by America's Best Value Inn, but was privately owned and was under rennovation. We had booked a king bed and a sofa sleeper for our child, but there was no sofa in the room. The staff had no idea where the sofa was so they finally brought in a fold-way bed for my child. Since it was basically cloth covering springs, we folded our comforter to use as cushioning under the sheet. There are many motels at this price or cheaper with better accommodations.

It is an almost hotel. The AC almost worked (temps never above 80), the water was almost hot (lukewarm), the refrigerator almost worked (below room temperature), and the room was almost clean. Well no - the last isn't true - the room was filthy with scum in the kitchen sink and all over the bathroom including the ceiling. However, for $30 a night it was acceptable (almost). With routine maintenance and higher cleaning standards, they could reasonably charge $60 a night.
