Listed as a historical landmark, The Pelham is located within walking distance of major attractions within New Orleans, just one block from the French Quarter, a short walk to Bourbon Street, and steps away from the Convention Center and the Riverwalk!.
Great hotel in a historic building. The Pelham is located on a site that was formerly the plantation of Jean Baptist Lemoyne De Bienville, founder of New Orleans. The plantation was granted to Bienville by the Company of the Indies in 1719 and sold by him to the Jesuit Fathers in 1726. The Order held it until 1763 when it was confiscated. Each of the exquisite guest rooms features exquisite floral designs, European reproduction antique furnishings and in-room safes. A variety of styles, including 4-poster king size and queen size beds, create an atmosphere of gracious comfort for every guest. Enter through a warmly ornate lobby with cozy seating area and old world decorations. A grand scale of personal service and attention to detail sets this luxury boutique hotel apart. There is no restaurant on property, but there are many choices within walking distance. 2 km to the nearest fair site (morial), 2 kms to city centre, 26 kms to the nearest airport (new orleans). |
