Would not recommend this hotel. The location is great but the hotel is subpar. When I first checked in was told I would have to move from my room with a queen bed the very next day and that I would have to move my luggage myself because it was the only handicap room they had and needed it for someone else. This reservation had been made more than one month before. After complaining for 30 minutes they finally found another room on the top floor with two small beds. The shower did not work right as the hot water came on and off turning showers. This room was about $20 less per day on their web site but I was not given any refund. My expectations were not met, this hotel does not meet the typical standards for Choice Hotels and not a good value.

Great location. Great continental breakfast. Great pool. Great room with microwave and fridge. Affordable hotel and parking. Elevators are the only sketchy part but we were on the second to top floor with no mishaps. Would stay again for sure!

everyone working at this hotel was friendly. the pool on the roof was great and you had a wonderful view of the mississippi. breakfast of cereals, bagels, biscuits/gravy, coffee, juices, tea etc. was available every morning. the hotel i only a block away from the trolley that took us all along the riverfront and back up main st. if you like a party and good blues music, don't miss beale st. trolley has a stop there.

We stayed here 3 nights and would recommend it for its central position (walking distance to many attractions) and the security-locked front doors/secure garage etc. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff were (except for one surly indidvidual) very efficient and friendly and helpful. There was a complimentary breakfast but this was not quite to British taste There were nice touches with regard to always available iced water and tea and coffee and afternoon snack cookies. We were on 15th floor and one day the lift broke down but was quickly repaired and the lifts were fast. There was also a gym and swimming pool. Downside was the surly man who totally ignored us when we greeted him-twice ! the bedroom carpet was worn and marked needed replacing. We thought this hotel was good value for money

It was just ok. Rooms were clean. All the staff were very nice except for the breakfast attendants. On the map it looked like a great location since it was only 6-10 blocks from the main downtown area. However, the maps fail to tell you that the area around it is very questionable - lots of abandoned buildings, liquor stores, vagrants, and beggers. The front desk personnel told me not to walk around after dark - to take taxis to/from the hotel. I was even scared walking to/from the hotel during the day and walking the one block to the trolley. Most of the time I did not carry a camera or money for fear of being mugged. Had I known this, I would have paid more to stay at a hotel near the Peabody Hotel and Peabody Shopping Center.

We really enjoyed the location of the hotel. It was so close to the trolly line that we could walk there and then go anywhere downtown that we wanted.

Considering the price, this hotel is good value for money. No-frills accomodation. Everything was very clean except the floors which were obviously not vacuumed, and the bathroom floor was so-so. The big pluses here are the included self-serve breakfast (you can bake your own waffles) and room internet (both WiFi and ethernet), as well as a computer in the lobby. Some floors have vending and ice cube machines. The location is still close enough to walk to all the downtwon attractions, and it is only one block to both streetcar lines. Reception staff wasn't flowery but helpful at the right moments, e.g. letting me store my luggage for a few hours after checkout. I would come back here anytime. If any guide mentions a Mexican restaurant: it's now out of business.
