The hotel is centrally located in Inverness, next to the railway station and amongst the shops, restaurants and nightlife of the city. Just five minutes from Loch Ness and 15 minutes from Inverness Airport. Aviemore resort is also easily reached from the hotel.
This is a perfectly situated hotel for those who require a location convenient for reaching all local amenities. It is Scottish in design and demonstrates a great sense of local tradition.
It is a traditional hotel built at the turn of the century. The appearance is deceivingly small on arrival but one soon realises that the building is substantial in size. Limited parking is available outside of the hotel, while further parking is available close by at a public car park.
Many of the bedrooms are large and all have very high ceilings. The decor is rich with traditional furniture and deep colours. The rooms all have soft furnishings and antique style furniture. The bathrooms are generally medium to large in size, with white marble features.
The lobby is large and very grand, having recently undergone a refurbishment. It has an ornate sweeping staircase leading up to the first floor, next to which is the tea room and the Ash bar.
This newly-added restaurant is one of the best in the city, with a wide range of both traditional Scottish and more modern international dishes. Seating is only available for up to 40 people, while the bar area is large, with comfortable seating areas and a wide selection of whiskeys. Overall the restaurant offers a fabulous dining experience in modern surroundings with low lighting.
