The hotel is wonderfully located in the heart of the city of Budapest, within walking distance of the main shopping area, on the Pest side of Danube.
The final renovations to this once grand hotel are being done in summer 07 to the reception and this will then see the total refurbishment of the hotel come to an end. A great place to stay if you want to be central and enjoy some Hungarian old world style.
The traditional and ornate exterior of the building dates back eighty years and makes the hotel one of the oldest establishments in Budapest.
The lobby is medium in size and has retained a number of original features, to give it a truly old style feel with a dark green velvet upholstery and antique furniture. Although the lobby is not very spacious, there is a large and well known bar leading on from the reception which is open to hotel guests and locals.
The restaurant is very popular with Hungarians and tourists and is a landmark with its incredible decor and old world charm. Refurbished in 2006 whilst maintaining its character and historical design, breakfast is served here and lunch and dinner is also available.
The rooms vary greatly in size and decor. Most of the rooms are medium sized, however the high ceilings make the rooms appear a lot larger. These pleasant air conditioned rooms have beech furniture, telephone, satellite and pay TV, internet connection, mini bar, in room safe and room service is available.
