Gran Hotel Barcino is a 4 star hotel in Barcelona.
The hotel was founded in 1996 and offers a comfortable interior decorated in a welcoming style to make every guest feel at home. Located in the city centre, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter in the middle of the shopping district. The Las Ramblas, the Old Port and Parc de la Ciutadella are within 15 minutes' walk from the hotel. The Gothic Quarter is the site of both historic monuments and modern institutions where visitors can stroll and admire the twin semicircular towers of the well-preserved Roman Walls. Experience genuine Catalan style at the Placa de Catalunya with its varied shopping and classic cafes. A snack bar and breakfast buffet lounge is available exclusively for the hotel guests. The Gran Hotel Barcino is convenient to dining, shopping and entertainment venues. All rooms are sound-proofed to shut out the bustling of the city so you can relax and rest in peace.
Hotel is lacking when compared to other 4- star rated hotels in the same area. The good: Location is close to La Rambla and port and restaurants. Room and bath are fairly good sized. The bad: Staff are unfriendly and apathetic. Elevators were out of service during our visit (resulting in carrying our luggage up 4 flights of stairs). Rooms were not very clean and bedspread covers were filthy. Twin bed mattresses were overly firm and springs squeaked noisily. Television reception was snowy at best and unwatchable.
Granted, we didn't pay much for this hotel room but it shouldn't be rated a 4-star.

The rooms were pretty small and it was very noisy. Great central location. Don't use laundry service!!!! The restaurant was not open the entire time that we were there!

I would recommend it to whoever is looking to see the heart of Barcelona and does not mind a bit of noise. We requested a quiet room with king/queen bed , initially we were given a quiet but tiny room with less than double bed, we changed it to a bigger room but noisier .
very clean ,huge bathroom,but overall not a 4 star hotel.
